Union Rags filly sells for $200,000 at OBS 2 Year Olds in Training Sale

A Union Rags filly, hip number 61, sold for $200,000 at the Ocala Breeders Sale  2 Year Olds in Training June 13-14 sale at which the top price was $400,000 for a colt by First Dude.

Union Rags 1Union RagsThe filly is out of I'm Mom's Favorite, by Indian Charlie, who is a stakes winner, having won the Miss Preakness Stakes at Pimlicco on May 17, 2013.

Her filly by Union Rags was consigned by Harris Training Center LLC, agent, and was bought by Linda Rice, agent.

A second Union Rags, hip number 80, a bay colt out of Jessi Take Change, sold for $35,000 and was bought by Zach Madden, agent, for Loooch Racing Table.

Eight Pa-breds went through the ring at the June sale, with five selling and three not reaching their reserves.

Hip number 760, a bay filly by Super Saver out of Circumspect, by Discreet Cat, brought $120,000, the highest price of the five Pa-breds.

The filly was bred by Blackstone Farm LLC, consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds and bought by Larry C. Brookshire.

Hip number 159, a gray or roan colt by Tale of the Cat out of Midnight Ramble, by Unbridled's Song who was bred by Michael Moran of Unionville, Pa., brought $100,000,

Moran had sold the colt as a yearling.  Top Line Sales,, agent was the consignor at the OBS sale, and Calumet bought the colt.

A chestnut colt by Bob and John out of Tia Chela, by Jump Start, hip number 430 bred by Xanthus Farms Inc., was consigned by Classic Equine, agent and bought by K.O.I.D. Co., Ltd. for $37,000.

A dark bay or brown filly by Stonesider out of Twoformeoneforyou, by Toccet, also bred by Xanthus Farm, was consigned by  Golden Thoroughbred Training and Sales, agent was bought by Victor Ellis Collazo for $15,000.

A third co colt bred by Xanthus Farms Inc., a dark bay or brown 2-year-old by Andiron out of Romanova, by Burning Rome consigned by Las Palmas Farm, was bought by W J H Racing for $6,000.

In all, 424 2 year olds sold for a total of $15,216,900 for an average of $35,889, which was up 23.9 percent over the previous year's sale at which 619 sold for an average of $28,968,

The Pa-breds sold for a total of $308,00 for an average of $61,600, well over the average for the entire sale.
