Devon Fall Classic begins Sept. 14, hurry to get tickets

The Devon Fall Classic, an all-jumper competition, not only has exciting classes in the Dixon Oval but also includes over 20 vendors. live music, fabulous food and a great Midway carnival.

Jumper classes begin at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14 with Meter 1, Meter 1.20,  Meter 1.30, Meter 1.40 and 5-, 6- and 7-year-old jumper classes followed by a High Junior/Amateur-Owner class and the Welcome Stake.

On Thursday evening, there's the Opening Night Celebration with live entertainment in the Picnic Grove featuring the Decades Dance Band from 7 to 9:30.

Jumper classes continue Friday beginning at 8 a.m., and the evening session, beginning at 7 p.m., features a High Junior/Amateur-Owner class and the Open Speed Stake.

From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., there's a Children's Storytelling Hour in the Picnic Grove, and from 6 to 9 p.m. is Yappy Hour, so take your dogs with you to enjoy beer and distillery tastings as well as treats for both people and pups.

Then from 7 to 10 p.m. again enjoy live entertainment in the Picnic Grove, this evening featuring the Sin Brothers.

Saturday classes include low and high children's, pony, low amateur-owner, low junior and low and high adult jumpers,, while from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Picnic Grove is Ladies Who Brunch, a catered champagne brunch with a fashion show.

The Saturday evening session, beginning at 7 p.m., includes the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Classic and the $25,000 Devon Fall Classic Grand Prix.

The Saturday evening entertainment in the Picnic Grove runs from 7 to 11 with the Blue Sky Band and Deck 5.

Sunday classes begin also at 8 a.m. and include low and high adult, low and high children's ,a Pony Jumper Classic, a Low Junior Jumper Classic and a Low Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic,  while from 12 to 2 p.m. there's a Jazz Brunch in the Picnic Grove with live jazz, and Kid's Day with crafts and fun games

From 12 to 2 p.m., there are pony rides in the schooling ring, and at the conclusion of the show there's a plant sale of all the beautiful flowers that have brightened up the Dixon Oval and stands during the four days.
