LEXINGTON, Ky.--Three combinations for the U.S. Driving Team for the FEI World Equestrian Games in Tryon, which takes place Sept. 11-23 in Mill Spring, N.C., were announded by U.S. Equestrian.
Following the 2017-2018 Selection Trials period, the following combinations of the U.S. Driving Team were recommended to the US Equestrian Board of Directors for consideration to be named to the Definite Entry List.
The following combinations have been named to the U.S. Driving Team for the WEG (in alphabetical order):
JAMES FAIRCLOUGH of Newton, N.J.),with Bento V, his 2006 Dutch Warmblood gelding; Caletta 5, his 2002 Austrian Warmblood mare; Citens, his 2007 KWPN gelding; Dapper, his 2008 Dutch Warmblood gelding; and Zenden, his 2004 Dutch Warmblood gelding.
Misdee Wrigley Miller of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., with Beau, her 2006 KWPN gelding; Bravour 54, her 2006 KWPN gelding; Bolino D, a 2006 KWPN gelding; Calipso 86, her 2007 Dutch Warmblood gelding; and Daan 8, 2008 KNHS gelding.
Chester Weber of Ocala, Fla., with Asjmenou, a 2005 Dutch Warmblood gelding; Splash, Jane Clark's 2003 Dutch Warmblood gelding; First Edition, his 2009 KWPN gelding; Reno, his 2009 Hungarian gelding; and Boris W, his 2006 KWPN gelding.
Additionally, the following combination has been named as the reserve to the U.S. Driving Team for the WEG:
Allison Stroud of Kennett Square, Pa., with Anesco 4, Willow Star LLC's 2005 Dutch Warmblood gelding; Ulco, Willow Star LLC's 2001 Dutch Warmblood gelding; Olando, Willow Star LLC's 1996 Dutch Warmblood gelding; Enzo, Willow Star LLC's 2009 Dutch Warmblood gelding; and George W, Willow Star LLC's 2011 KWPN gelding.
Driving will be competed at the WEG Sept. 21-23, with dressage on Friday, sept. 21 followed by the marathon on Saturday and cones on Sunday.
