DEVON, Pa.--There is great news for jumper exhibitors and jumper fans - The Devon Fall Classic has returned after skipping a year.
The Fall Classic, presented by Bryn Mawr, will be held Sept. 12-15 and will feature an all jumper show and much, much more,
Laura Chapot, one of Devon spectators' biggest favorites, is one of the top jumper riders who will be competing at the Fall Classic.
"We're looking forward to it," said Mary Chapot, who owns a number of the horses Laura competes.
Laura, who was the Winter Equestrian Festival's Leading Open Jumper Rider, has most recently won the first three jumper classes at Lake Placid.
The Fall Classic is a family oriented weekend with tons of entertainment outside the Dixon Oval as well.
On Friday, Yappy Hour will be the featured entertainment from 5 to 7 p.m., in the picnic Grove.
Tickets ar $20 a person and include the $7 admission to the grounds along with three free drink tickets as well as doggie treats.
THERE WILL BE local distillery and craft beer tastings in the Grove from 5 to 7.
Tickets for the live entertainment by Knock One Back in the Pavilion from 6:30 to 10 p.m. are $20 and also included the $7 admision to the grounds and two drink tickets.
On Saturday, there will be kids' activities in the Pavilion in the morning, and from 2:30 to 4 p.m. a chili contest will be featured in the pavilion. Registration for the Chili Contest will be on Devon's website, and there will be limited entries.
Again, there will be live entertainment by Prime Time, a 60's, 70's and 80's dance band, in the Pavilion Saturday evening, with tickets at $20 that includes admission to the grounds and two drink tickets.
Suday's activities may included such family friendly activities as pony rides and face painting, and there will be a plant sale after the last class.
Thre will be a Midway for kids, complete with an oversized Ferris wheel.
Wild Blue catering will provided freshly made, delicious food with a different specialty thme each evening, and Bassett's ice cream is back with Devon's favorite flavors.
The prize list will be on the Devon website in mid-July, and family oriented activities will also be on the website as they become final.
Boxes are on sale now at a discounted rate through July 10.
Admission to the Fall Classic is $5 Thursday, $7Friday and Saturday and FREE on Sunday.
