LEESBURG, Va.--Virginia Tech’s Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center (EMC) in Leesburg is implementing an ambitious strategic plan, to ensure the Center’s future at the leading edge of veterinary medicine.
Plans are in place to build a three-surface ‘Indoor Equine Performance Evaluation Arena’ to accommodate ridden, lunged and in-hand lameness evaluations, to expand cutting-edge Sports Medicine programs already offered, and designed to replicate conditions under which your horse performs at home or in competition.
Recent additions to sports medicine services include hiring a sports medicine clinician (Dr. Maureen Kelleher), incorporating full time on-site farrier services (Goodness Farrier Associates), investing in advanced imaging technologies, and current construction of the Youngkin Equine Soundness Center, adjacent to the proposed Equine Performance Evaluation Arena.
These additions elevate the already high level of care EMC provides your equine athlete.
