DiAnn Langer and Britt McCormick have been nominated for President of USHJA

LEXINGTON, Ky.--The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association Nominating Committee has named DiAnn Langer and Britt McCormick as the official nominees for Office of the President of the USHJA.

Langer, of Johnston, S.C., is heavily involved in the sport as an owner, trainer and breeder.

With the USHJA, she has served on the Board of Directors, Jumper Working Group, Emerging Jumper Rider Task Force, Young Jumper Task Force, and NAYC/Prix des States Task Force and was previously the USHJA Show Jumping Technical Advisor.

Her experience in sport governance continued as an advisor to numerous USEF committees and as President of the Pacific Coast Horse Show Association, California Professional Horsemen’s Association, California Professional Horsemen’s Foundation and Los Angeles Horse Show Association.

Langer has been the USEF Show Jumping Youth Chef d’Equipe and Technical Advisor since 2013 and has her "R" Jumper, Hunter and Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation judges cards.

 

McCORMICK is a competition manager, owner, trainer, competitor and consultant from McKinney, Texas.

His experience in governance as a member of the USHJA includes the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Hunter Working Group, Jumper Working Group, and International Hunter Derby and Incentive Task Force, among others.

He also serves as Chair of USEF National Breeds and Disciplines Council and on the USEF National Hunter Committee.

In the sport, McCormick is an “R” Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation, Hunter, and Hunter Breeding judge; “R” Hunter Course Designer, "r" Jumper Course Designer; and a licensed AQHA Specialized Judge.

He has served as the Jumper Technical Delegate for USHJA Championships, as an advisor to the USHJA Gold Star Clinics, and as Chef d’Equipe for Zone 7.

These candidates were selected for the nomination through a multi-step process.

Members submitted nominations for the office of President, which were then reviewed by the USHJA Nominating Committee.

The committee interviewed candidates before submitting their recommended nominees to the USHJA Board of Directors.

The President-Elect selected in the September 2023 election will commence the term as President in December 2024, following a 15-month transition period.

Over the 15 months, the President-Elect will work with the current President and provide input in the seating of Working Groups, Committees, and Task Forces; receive education in both the administrative functions of the USHJA and its relationship with the Federation and other affiliates; and serve as a non-voting member unless already serving as a member.

The President-Elect will assume full Presidential duties at the close of the 2024 USHJA Annual Meeting.
