"Timetoshine ran three times in Grade 2 stakes last year, and she was second in all of them, so it was nice to get her head in front this time," said Beecher.

"I've had her for about a year now," Beecher said. "She won a stakes here at Colonial last year. I got her off Nicky Henderson, she was in a sale in England, but Nicky had recommended her."

"SHE'S A lovely mare to train," he said. "She's very easy to work around. She'll probably run next in the filly and mare stakes at Far Hills."

Last year, Timetoshine was second to Blue Waters, trained by Gordon Elliot, in the Margaret Currey Henley in Nashville, second to Gold Charm in the Theodore A Randolph and second to Camanoe in the Life's Illusion, all G2 stakes.

At Colonial, Runnymoore Racing's Steadfast Resolve, trained by Neil Morris and ridden by Graham Watters, won the $60,000 Maiden Hurdle by 1 1/2 lengths over McLovin, trained by Kate Dalton, and Deflected, trained by Kathy Neilson.

Dalton also saddled St. Rita Racing's Pleasant Fantasy, ridden by Bernie Dalton, to win the $40,000 Ratings Handicap Hurdle by 3 1/2 lengths over L'Avvocato (Fr), trained by Neilson, and Renfro's Reception, trained by Fisher.
