Hendriks family, Wendy, son Ricky and grandson McLane, have winners, Motion, Brion, Fisher and Merryman also have winners

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa.--Wendy Hendriks had a number of winners over last winter and spring, including three at Tampa Bay Downs, all trained by her son Ricky.

Wendy Hendriks at RadnorWendy Hendriks Dynamic Actress won a Maiden Claiming race in January, then finished second twice in Optional Claiming races before winning again on May 4 in a $330,000 Starter Optional Claiming race at 1mile on the turf, with all at her races at Tampa Bay.

"We bought her as a yearling and got her Delaware certified," said Wendy Hendriks.

Dynamic Actress has now won twice, and finished second twice and third once from six starts.

That threesome won two other races, both with Whirlwind, who won a $20,00, 1 1/16 mile Claiming race on the turd in March and  a $27,500 1mile turf Claiming race in April.

Whirlwind, a 3-year-old Filly, now has won twice from two starts.

Wendy as an owner on her own had a winner in Casino Night, who won a $12,000 5 1/2 furlong Maiden Claiming race at Delaware Park on May 24, also trained by Ricky.

"Casino Night won, we ran her again, and she got claimed," said Wendy.

Wendy's grandson McLane is now also training racehorses, and he too saddled a winner.

Joy Slater's Chevy Man won a $42,215, 1 1/16 mile turf Maiden Claiming race at Laurel on May 26.

 

GRAHAM MOTION had five Stakes  winners along with five allowance, two Maiden Special Weight and eight Claiming race winners over the spring.

Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners' Fondly won the $250,000, 1 1/16 mile Virginia Oaks  at Colonial Downs on March 15,and Cayton Park Stud's Beach Bomb won the $!65,000, 1 1/2 mile Orchid Stakes on the Turf at Gulfstream.

Amerman Racing's homebred Test Score won the $500,000 Transylvania Stakes at Keeneland on April 7.

Newstead Stables' Laurelin won the $150,000, 1mle Memories of Silver at Aqueduct on April 27, and Csyton Park Stud's Marksman Queen won the $250,000, 1 1/2 mile Turf Keertan Stakes at Churchill Downs on May 24,

Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners had three Allowance winners, The Ginger Wizard in an $82,000,1 1/2 mile race at Turfway, Spoil in an $81,000,1 1/16 mile race at Belmont at the Big A on May 2, and Warming in a $48,000, 1 116 mile turf race  at Delaware Park on June 13.

Werthheimer and Son had a homebred win in a $56,600, 1 mile turf race at Laurel on May 3,and RyZan Sun Racing won with Mission of Joy in a $41,000, 1mile turf race at Churchill on April 26.

Motion's claiming winners included Princess  Buttercup, Hidden Presence, who won twice, Silly Rabbit, Delayed, Naptown, Academy and Roja. 

KERI BRION had five winners jover the late spring and early summer.

Damchu Stables' Miztertoni won a 58,000,1 1/16 mile Starter Optional Claiming race at Belmont at the Big A on May 17, Dark Horse Racing Stable's Learning to Fly won a $31,500, 1 mile turf Maiden Claiming race at Laurel on May 23 and L5 Racing's Sanpirodu won a $14,000,6 furlong Claiming race at Presque Isle on June 4.

Brion won two races on June 6, with Three Diamonds Farm's Salted Carmel in a $25,000, 1 mile and 70 yards turf Stater Optional Claiming race at Delaware Park, and with Steinmetz Equine Holding's Minari in a $31,200,1 mile turf Starter Optional Claiming  race at Laurel.

JACK FISHER saddled Norhwoods Stable's homebred Mission North to win a $48,300,1 mile Allowance turf race at Laurel on May 25.

LIZ MERRYMAN had a Stakes winner in Qatar Racing's Witty, who won the $125,000, 5 furlong Jim McKay Turf Sprint at Pimlico on May 17.
