Unique equestrian treasures created by Eileen for Tempi Design Studio

Tempi Design Studio was born by Eileen with the desire to create unique equestrian treasures.

temp 1Each design series is meant to look different, capturing a certain breed, pose and motion, in a raised relief with very fine detail.

With a background in dentistry, these creations are first carved in wax , drip by drip, carved and added until the design is perfected.

Next, the wax pattern is cast by the Lost Wax method.

This method includes multiple steps, with hours in between, and oven time.

temp d 2Once cast, the design is sandblasted clean and the finishing process begins.

Eileen refines the rough casting into her next vision with a dremmel type tool using sandpaper discs and diamond burs.

This original casting becomes the "prototype" and is replicated in a mold making process, which can then be injected by hot wax, and cast as a duplicate over and over and over.

This is how all designs are "born".

With 15 years of designs, the number of molds is extensive.

temp d 3And, no, the molds do not last forever.

They do have a shelf life.

The material eventually breaks down into a soft paste and is unusable.

So, keeping a prototype is a must to preserve the work effort of the design and remaking a mold if desired.

Over the years, ideas for these designs have been chosen by action photos seen in the news of horse and riders.

Additionally business logos can be made dimensional and make a striking buckle, key fob, ornament, or jewelry piece.

Recently, Eileen helped Dressage at Devon celebrate their 50th Anniversary with a design series utilizing their logo.

temp d 4A buckle design with a belt was even presented to Ingrid Klimke during the event, which she proudly wore for her "Master Class" on Thursday eve.

Tempi is a sole proprietor business and Eileen enjoys meeting her customers at the same shows year after year, sort of "catching up" on their horsey lives.

Additionally, Tempi has an extensive online store where you can browse the many designs, which has extended beyond just horses.

Creating is what keeps Eileen engaged in this intensive work.

Take a look at the "Collections" online , posted video clips or the various magazine pdf coverages of her unique style of work.
