 HONEYBROOK, Pa.--Yonie's Harness Shop is a small synthetic tack business with 10 employees located in the beautiful countryside of Honey Brook.

We craft each piece by hand, and display the best equine products on the market.

Our story begins in the rich farmlands of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

In 1970, founder Jonathon was born to the Stoltzfus family along with two sisters and seven brothers.

At the age of 12, his older sister needed help installing buttons onto his and the brother's pants, shirts and coats, so he began assisting.

As the years of went by, his knowledge for sowing allowed him to take a swing at making horse harnesses.

Jonathon soon decided to turn his new endeavor into a business, so Yonie’s Harness Shop was established in 1992, and three years later, hired its first employee.

We are one of the early BioThane material adopters: it's easier to clean, produce, and lasts a long time, yet we still offer leather repairs.

Where does the name Yonie come from?

It's short for Yehonatan, which is the Hebrew form of the popular name Jonathan- our owner.

Yonie is the nickname for John, as are Bob for Robert and Bill for William.

Our store is fully off-grid, with the electric we use coming from solar panels and a diesel generator, more panels coming soon :)
