LAKE PLACID--Mia Bagnato of Fishkill, N.Y., on Florida N won the 1.40m Speed Challenge on Thursday, July 4, the featured class of the day at the I Love New York Horse Show, the second week of the 55th annual Lake Placid Horse Shows.

Bagnato, who is just 18, finished in 66.088 seconds to win over Wednesday’s winning combination, Laura Chapot and Ginola, who finished clean in 66.336 seconds.

This is the second time that Bagnato and Chapot finished first and second in a speed class.

Bagnato also placed fifth with four faults on Cordiamo.

In the 1.30m Open Speed Class, Schuyler Riley on Garance de Vains, placed first with the fastest of the three clean rides.

Riley finished in 71.758 seconds to beat Hayley Alcock, who finished clean in 74.301 seconds on Joule, and Caitlin Venezia White, who was clean in 74.400 seconds on Quico VD Brouwershoeve.

Riley also placed fourth with the fastest four fault ride on Booster 13.
