LAKE PLACID, N.Y.--Brian Moggre on Edgard De Prefontaine won the $45,000 FEI 3* Jump-off on Friday, June 27 at the Lake Placid Horse Shows.

Third to go in the jump-off, Emily Dehoff on Manou De Muze set the time to beat with a clean round in 41.07 seconds.
Two rides later, Mark Bluman of Colombia on Joevaro made two tight turns on his way to the fastest time of 39.40 seconds, but a rail down at the final fence cost him four faults, and he was ultimately third.
Moggre, winner of last year’s Lake Placid Grand Prix with MTM Vivre Le Reve, was the last to go. and was the second to go clean in the jump-off, finishing in 40.46 seconds to win.
“This is the first time I have jumped him at this height; it’s only my fourth show with him,” Moggre said. “He felt amazing in the first round, so I felt I could take a few risks in the jump-off. I gave it the best shot I could, and he was right there with me. He is such a lovely horse. I’m so grateful to be able to ride him.
“The new grounds here look absolutely beautiful, and the rings are riding great,” he added. “It’s wonderful to be back, and I’m excited about the future here!”
ON THURSDAY, Philip McGuane of Ireland won the $5,000 FEI 3* Two-Phase, the first FEI jumper class at the show.
McGuane on My Lady Van De Krekel won over a 43 horse field.
McGuane was one of 14 to go clean in both phases of the course designed by Michel Vaillancourt.
His time of 32.32 seconds was just one one-hundredth of a second faster than the 32.33 seconds turned in by three-time Swiss Olympic veteran Beat Mandli on Qoachella.
Brianne Goutal-Marteau on S&L Marlon VD Heffinck finished third in 34.54 seconds.
