To insure or not to insure. That is the question. See Blue Bridle for the answer

If your horse was injured or became ill would you have the finances available to pay the medical bills?

Blue ins 1The Mortality policy, or life insurance on the horse, covers death due to accident, illness or disease and includes theft of the animal.

This insurance policy is available on foals as young as 24 hours of age and horses up to age 20.

You can add to the Mortality policy, additional medical options such as Major Medical, Surgical and/or Colic coverage to help defray the cost of necessary veterinarian treatment for your horse.

Blue ins 2Eligibility for these options varies depending on the carrier.

Besides protecting your horse, you should think about protecting yourself as a horse owner or your equine operations.

Do you have liability coverage if your horse were to injure someone or cause property damage?
