LAKE PLACID, N.Y.--Gracie Allen of Moorestown,N.J., and Linda Sheridan of Stockton, N.J. won jumper classes on Wednesday, June 26 at the first of the two Lake Placid Horse Shows.
Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, N.J., was second in both classes.
Allen rode Enya EMS Van De Padenborre Z to the win in the Lake Placid 1.40m Jump-off, Wednesday’s featured class at the 55th annual Lake Placid Horse Shows.
Allen was one of four entries to go clean over the 13-jump first-round course designed by Michel Vaillancourt.
She then rode Enya EMS Van De Padenborre Z to the faster of the two clean rides over the seven fence jump-off course, finishing clean in 28.011 seconds to win over Chapot, who finished clean in 29.263 seconds on Chandon Blue.
IN THE 1.30m class, Sheridan topped a field of 31 entries by turning in the fastest of the 11 clean rides over the one round speed class.
She finished clean in 53.879 seconds on Vantina HPF. and Chapot placed second again, finishing clean in 55.110 seconds on Kanjer P.
The shows feature a full, two-week schedule with more than $540,000 in prize money and continue at the North Elba Showgrounds through July 7.
