WINTERTHUR, Del.--Mark Beecher saddled two winners, including Track and Trace (Ire) in the featured Wintrthur Bowl, on Sunday, May 4 at the Winterthur Races.
Track and Trace, ridden by Dan Nevin (Photo by Tod Marks)Track and Trace (Ire), owned by Bruton Street-US, trained by Beecher and ridden by Dan Nevin, won the $25,000. 3 1/4 mile Winterthur Bowl Allowance Timber by 2 lengths in 6:29 over Theda's Boy, trained by Kevin Boniface, and Glencorrib Sky (Ire), trained by Kathy Neilson.
"Track and Trace is the first horse I've had for Bruton Street," said Beecher. "He broke his maiden over timber at the Grand National, and this was his second time over timber, so he's two for two,"
"I've had him since last November," said Beecher."'He's a very nice horse, very straight-forward. He'll be entered at Radnor."
Previously, Track and Trace ran in steeplechase races in England, where he won a Handicap at Catterick Bridge.
BEECHER also saddled Master Seville, owned by South Branch Equine and ridden by Nevin, to win the $15,000 Vicmead Plate Apprentice Rider Timber by 2 lengths in 6:45 2/5 over Storm Team, trained by Willy Dowling.
Fast Vision finished third but was disqualified.
"Master Seville has been a very loyal servant," said Beecher. "That was his fifth sanctioned win. Dan gave him a great ride. He's entered in the Stakes at Willowdale. It's a quick turn around, but it's his last run for the spring."
Sandra Webb saddled Mrs. S.K. Johnston Jr.'s Anzio, ridden by Freddie Procter, to win the $20,000 Isabelle duPont Sharp Memorial Maiden Timber by a neck in 6:47 2/5 over Hey Teacher (Ire), trained by Neilson, and Minella Plus (Ire), trained by Tom Garner.
Cathal Lynch saddled Trevesso, owned by Runnymoore Racing and ridden by Conor Tierney, to win the Apprentice Rider Training Flat by 1 1/2 lengths over Autumn, trained by Leslie Young, and Trip Switch, trained by Fenneka Bentley.
