Summer Camps

Blu Flame Horsemanship offers both traditional and therapeutic riding

BANGOR, Pa.--Blu Flame Horsemanship is an equine assisted activity and riding program currently operating out of MD Performance Horses in Bangor, Pa.

Blu F 1It was founded in September 2024 by Nicole DeBel and Amy Pruner, two friends and lifelong equestrians who share a passion for horses.

After experiencing the positive impact horses have on people, both Amy and Nicole decided to share their personal horses with others so they could also experience the many benefits that come from equine assisted activities, and Blu Flame Horsemanship was born, named after the two horses that inspired the program, Bluebird’s Mountain Hymn and ROL Flame Dancer.

Our mission is to enrich both participants and employees through professional development, therapeutic horsemanship, and fostering an environment for growth regardless of disabilities or challenges.

Blu Flame Horsemanship offers both traditional and therapeutic riding, as well as unmounted traditional and therapeutic horse assisted learning activities, providing different opportunities for participants to interact with horses as appropriate for each individual.

Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome at Blu Flame Horsemanship, and each lesson is catered to specific participant goals to promote individualized growth.

Blu F 2The positive environment creates a calm, safe learning space for our community to experience the mental, physical, and social benefits that come with equine assisted activities.

Our camps are a great way for new participants to get a taste of horsemanship and riding, and a great way for more experienced students build their skills and knowledge.

Camps are open to everyone ages 5 and up of all abilities (both therapeutic and traditional).

We cater all of our activities to the needs of each individual camper to ensure that everyone has an amazing experience.

Amy Pippin of Line It Up teaches students of all ages

Amy Pippin is a lifelong horsewoman who has dedicated the last 30 years to training and educating horses and students.

Pippin 1She is a pony club and 4-H alumni and teaches students of all ages and abilities.

Her focus is to provide a safe, supportive and educational environment for the rider and horse to cultivate a partnership and work together to accomplish their goals.

Amy's lessons are taught primarily from a biomechanical perspective, working with students who may have struggled with traditional lessons in the past to build confidence and encourage resilience.

Riding is a complex skill that involves balance, coordination and an understanding of the horse’s movements.

Pippin 2I break down the elements of riding into manageable segments, emphasizing the significance of body position, leg aids and rein control.

Teaching students how to handle a horse on the ground is also important and lays the groundwork for confidence in the saddle.

At Line it Up we prioritize safety, mastering techniques and fostering a strong instructor-student bond.

We guide students on their journey to develop a strong rider-horse relationship and to become confident equestrians.

Pippin 3Riding is not just about the ride.

Students not only develop skills, but also learn to trust and value their relationship with the horse both in and out of the saddle.

Our equine programs are great for students who want to ride for recreation or who are interested in competing at local shows.

At Line it Up we offer a verity of programs including weekly riding lessons, IEA, year round camps, on and off-site horse shows, and other educational programs.

Line it Up is a participant and host of the local Triangle Show Series offering Hunter equitation, jumper, and Dressage shows year round!
